Everstake is happy to announce that our company has joined the Secure Staking Alliance as a founding member, fully committed to developing industry standards for staking and Web3 altogether to ensure their utmost security and reliability.
The Secure Staking Alliance is a group of players across the staking industry, including insurance providers, app developers, validators, security teams, and protocols.

The Alliance will focus on jointly developing and enforcing protocol standards, implementation foundations, best practices, operational guidelines, and informational documentation.

Currently, there is no commonly recognized framework for running staking infrastructure and anti-slashing policies. Most actors, including top-tier validators, have to develop those policies from scratch (such as Everstake’s proprietary governance policy). Yet, they remain applicable only in a limited number of cases and suffer from scalability and associated costs, which is especially important for smaller validators. Standardizing those procedures will ensure more secure and fast development of new solutions while maintaining the safety of the existing ones.
By joining forces with other responsible actors from across the staking industry and the Web3 realm, we can confidently design a commonly acceptable operational framework that would significantly reduce the risks associated with staking while paving the path for innovation for existing and new solutions.
Everstake’s involvement in the Secure Staking Alliance fully aligns with our mission of creating the most reliable and resilient blockchain infrastructure for the emerging Web3 world and the benefit of token holders. We are honored and happy to be a part of this movement.

Ethereum just crossed a meaningful threshold, as more than half of ETH ever issued has passed through Ethereum’s Proof-of-Stake (PoS) deposit contract. As of February 2026, the PoS contract holds approximately 80.95 million ETH, representing 50.18% of the historical issuance before accounting for token burns via mechanisms like EIP-1559. This milestone, highlighted by on-chain analytics...
