Native token of the Somnia blockchain is SOMI, with a fixed supply of 1 billion.

SOMI operates on a delegated proof-of-stake (dPoS) model and serves three main purposes:

• Staking: Users can delegate their SOMI to node providers.

• Gas Fees: All gas fees on the Somnia blockchain are paid in SOMI.

• Governance: In the future, SOMI holders will be able to participate in decision-making for the network and its components, with exact mechanisms still to be defined.

The largest share of allocation is reserved for the community and will be distributed gradually over 48 months, starting with 10.945% unlocked at the token generation event (TGE). These tokens will fund community initiatives, incentive programs, and liquidity.

The ecosystem alocation will follow the same 48-month release schedule, with 5.075% becoming available at launch.

Tokens for launch partners and team members will be locked for the first year, after which they will be unlocked monthly over the next 48 months.

Investors and advisors will have a similar one-year cliff, with monthly unlocks over 36 months.

There is no minimum amount to start delegating your SOMI.

When delegating to a validator with more than 5M SOMI staked, there is no unbonding period if the delegator chooses to unstake from that validator.
