ATOM Staking Report: Everstake Presents Real-Time On-chain Data Analysis Tool

We are happy to present our automated PowerBI report with the On-chain Data Analysis in Cosmos. It is a follow-up to our recently released ATOM Staking Report: On-chain Data Analysis 2020-2022, which discusses an expanded set of metrics describing the progress of the Cosmos ecosystem. While the report uses historical data, it presents it in a static form. This version of the report is interactive and allows one to filter data entries to see the ecosystem’s state at a given moment, including the present day. This makes this interactive version of the report an efficient real-time data analysis tool for on-chain data.

The data were sourced from Everstake’s in-house research instruments, Slurp and Staking API. 

How to Use the Analysis Tool

You can use this interactive dashboard to access data filtered by your preferences, including:

— Commission rate

— Validator rank

— Time period (down to the data for today)

— Validator in the right-hand side multi-select menu

You can also use tools on every specific chart to sort out the order of data entries and increase its size for greater detail.

Charts and Their Meaning

• Stake/Delegators distribution in amount between TOP validators

These bar charts and lines allow observing the historical dynamic of stake and unique delegators by each validator. Select the validators you’re interested in and set the time interval for which you want to retrieve the data.

• Total stake growth dynamic

This bar chart depicts the growth rate from a month-by-month perspective. 

• Restake rewards rations and amount

This set of data represents the likelihood of re-staking for compound interest.

• Average stake-to-commission rate by the validator

This chart shows the dependency between the commission level and the average stake for each validator (represented by circles). The vertical axis represents the validator commission, and the horizontal axis represents the average stake amount. The size of a circle corresponds to the amount of the total stake.

• Delegator distribution by the stake in ATOM

The pie chart divides all delegators into groups by their stake size. There are five of them, from minor stakes under 500 ATOM to whale-size stakes of over 100,000 ATOM.

• Stake ratio, inflation, APR, Total stake, and price

The chart shows the relationship between token price and stake amount, considering the impact the stake-to-supply ratio has on inflation and APR. The borderline value is 67%. When lower than that, inflation approaches its lower limit of 7%. Otherwise, it moves towards the higher limit of 20%. 

• Stake redelegate flow between validators/commission rates

This chart depicts the flow of funds between validators/validator groups having the same fees. Sources are on the right-hand side of the chart, and destinations are on the left. You can select source validators from the multi-select menu on the right and filter the data by the amount of redelegation and destination validator. The thickness of the connection line represents the weight of the redelegation. 

Final Remarks

This analytics tool is the first of its kind to provide access to this wide array of data. Understanding the need for the same level of detail in other prominent blockchains, the Everstake team currently works on creating reports and analytic tools for the most viable blockchain ecosystems. We will announce their release as soon as they are ready and duly compiled.
