TL;DR

  • Everstake has partnered with Cypherock, the maker of the X1 hardware wallet for staking
  • Staking is non-custodial and covers major assets supported through the Everstake Wallet SDK.

What Is the Cypherock x Everstake Partnership?

Cypherock is a decentralised hardware wallet that has integrated Everstake’s full stack of non-custodial staking for major assets

The integration brings institutional-grade staking and DeFi rewards directly into the cySync companion app used by Cypherock X1 owners.

Cypherock X1 acts as the hardware-secured access point for every transaction. For this partnership, Cypherock gets access to Everstake Wallet SDK for staking, rendered natively inside cySync.

What Is Cypherock Wallet?

Cypherock is a hardware wallet maker that has created a decentralised crypto cold wallet for secure self-custody of digital assets. The flagship product, Cypherock X1, splits the private key into 5 cryptographic shards using Shamir’s Secret Sharing.

The shards live across 5 tamper-resistant components: 1 X1 Vault device and 4 X1 Cards. To sign a transaction, the user taps any 1 of the 4 cards onto the vault.

Cypherock reports being audited by Keylabs, verified reproducible by WalletScrutiny and is listed on bitcoin.org.

The X1 Cards use NFC smartcards with EAL 6+ secure elements, the same hardware grade as bank credit cards. The X1 Vault runs a dual-chip architecture for offline computation and verification.

Key specifications of Cypherock X1:

  • Coverage of 18,000+ digital assets including BTC, ETH, SOL, and POL.
  • Up to 4 independent wallets stored inside one device.
  • Compatibility with BIP39 wallets like Ledger, Trezor, MetaMask, and Trust Wallet.
  • Connection to dApps through WalletConnect.
  • Cypherock Cover, a non-custodial inheritance service launched in Q4 2024.

Why Choose Everstake as the Infrastructure Layer

Everstake has run validator infrastructure across 130+ networks historically and currently supports 30+ active networks, with $7B+ staked to date. The company has served 1.6M delegators through 40,000+ validator nodes.

Compliance matters for embedded products. Everstake is certified under SOC2, ISO27001, and GDPR compliant, with a multi-year slashing-free history on major networks.

Operational footprint covers 10+ countries and 420+ servers. Custodian partners include BitGo, Anchorage Digital, Copper, and Zodia Custody.

Staking Through the Everstake Wallet SDK

Staking is the first part of this integration. Cypherock X1 users can now delegate major proof-of-stake assets directly from cySync, with rewards accruing on-chain and keys never leaving the hardware device.

Everstake is the exclusive staking provider for CypheRock.

The integration uses the Everstake Wallet SDK, which exposes a unified interface for delegation, claiming, and unstaking across supported networks.

Staking through cySync is non-custodial. Users keep ownership of their assets at all times, and Everstake’s validator nodes act only as the delegation target.

The staking steps inside the cySync app:

  1. The user selects an asset.
  2. Signs the delegation on the X1 Vault with NFC confirmation from any 1 of the 4 X1 Cards.
  3. The transaction broadcasts to the network.
  4. Rewards become claimable according to each network’s native schedule.

Why Cypherock Partnership Makes Sense

Cypherock X1 has a security model that aligns with non-custodial staking-related products. The wallet shards keys across 5 components, potentially removing the single point of failure that exists with seed-phrase-based wallets.

The cySync application supports WalletConnect and 18,000+ assets, which makes adding staking flows a natural extension of how Cypherock users already manage portfolios.
