Injective is a blockchain that provides a robust framework for building next-generation DeFi products. Its features include an MEV-resistant on-chain order book, cross-chain bridging infrastructure, and CosmWasm and EVM compatibility, making Injective highly interoperable and attractive for users and developers. For more information about Injective, please refer to our overview.

The native token of Injective, INJ, serves various purposes, including paying for gas fees, participating in governance, incentivizing developers building on Injective, and securing the network through staking. This guide describes how to stake INJ using the Keplr Wallet connected to the Injective Hub.

About Injective Hub

Injective Hub is an all-in-one platform enabling multiple functionalities for the Injective community, including bridging, staking, governance, and more. Injective Hub aims to offer an intuitive user experience for various on-chain functions. The platform consists of several sections, including:

  • Dashboard: an overview of Injective metrics and real-time updates on blocks added to the Injective Chain by validators.

  • Wallet: via this section, users can view their balances, delegations, re-delegations, and rewards, as well as process transfers on Injective. Among the currently available wallets are Keplr, Leap, MetaMask, Ledger, Trezor, and Torus.

  • Bridge: enables the transfer of cross-chain assets to Injective.

  • Staking: allows accessing the list of all active validators of the Injective network. Users can easily delegate their INJ and see more information on each validator by pressing the Details button.

  • Governance: an overview of the past and ongoing proposals on Injective. Users can learn more about each submission and participate in voting. Anyone in the Injective community can create a new proposal using the New Proposal button.

  • Insurance Fund: this feature aims to protect margin traders during liquidations.

  • Auction: 60% of all exchange fees are automatically burned every week. The Action interface enables users to monitor fees collected on Injective.

  • FAQ: here, you can find answers to common questions about browsing through Injective Hub, bridging assets to Injective, staking, etc.

Why Stake INJ?

Injective’s Tendermint-based Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism allows anyone to contribute to the network’s security and decentralization by delegating their tokens to a validator and earning staking rewards.

How to Stake INJ

Head over to Injective Hub and connect your Keplr wallet. If you haven’t created a wallet, refer to our tutorial for step-by-step instructions. Once created, hit Connect button in the top right corner to proceed.

Connect Button

Choose Keplr.

Choose Keplr

Approve the wallet connection to proceed.

Approve connection

Assuming you have INJ tokens in your wallet, you can move on to staking. Otherwise, click the ‘Deposit’ button to copy your Injective wallet address or to scan the QR code and top up the wallet.
Note: for staking, you must have native INJ (not ERC20 INJ tokens).

Top up your wallet

Once the wallet with a positive balance is connected, head to the Staking section.

Staking section

Here you can see the staking APR, the total amount staked, and your INJ balance available for delegation. You can also evaluate the validators’ details before selecting the one to which you want to delegate your tokens. Once selected, hit Delegate Now to proceed.

Delegate now button

Enter the amount you want to delegate. Leave a small amount of INJ in your wallet to cover the transaction fees. Hit Delegate and approve the transaction in your Keplr wallet.

Enter the amount

That’s it! You have successfully delegated your tokens and started getting staking rewards.

Manage your delegation

To conveniently manage your delegation, go to the Staking page.

Staking page

The Staking page displays your staking stats (delegations, your staked amount, claimable rewards, and available balance), staking data (such as total validators, staking APR, and total staked), and the list of Injective validators.

Staking page

  • Delegations: an overview of all your active delegations. Here you can delegate more to the same validator, claim staking rewards, unstake your tokens (unbond), or redelegate to a different validator.
    Kindly note:

    • The unstaking period is 21 days. Staking rewards do not accrue during this time frame.

    • You will not stop earning staking rewards by redelegating some or all of your staked tokens to a different validator. Still, after delegating from validator A to validator B, you will have to wait 21 days to be able to redelegate from validator B.
